Wow! This has not been widely publicized in Alabama. All we've been hearing about is how our esteemed governor, Bob Riley, is salivating over the stimulus funds the state will receive.

Thanks, Rooster.

God bless America, where ever she lands!

"American Genie" I have not heard of this one either.I have been looking for some info on the ammo branding someone introduced last session though. I think it has been once more and wish I could get some info. Anyway, that is good for us'ns here in Al.

If you read that bill closely, you will see that it does still give a police officer the right to take your weapon based on nothing more than the officers judgement:

A law enforcement officer who is acting in the lawful discharge of the officer's official duties may disarm an individual if the officer reasonably believes that it is immediately necessary for the protection of the officer or another individual.

Now I'm not saying that all cops have bad judgement, but I've seen many cases where police officers abuse their power. I don't like the idea of giving up my gun to anyone if I'm doing nothing wrong. That's just something to ponder.

Thanks, TWhiddon. I haven't read it, but I will. That doesn't surprise me. Alabama has some of the most worthless legislators in the USA.

The husband grew up with Bob Riley, our esteemed governor, & thinks a lot of him. I used to think that way also, but now I see just another scheming politician. I have to watch my big, fat, opinionated mouth when discussing our governor now.

God bless America, where ever she lands!
